BTS 'Arirang' Ascends to Billboard 200 Pinnacle

The album 'Arirang' by BTS has ascended to the summit of the Billboard 200, cementing its dominance across international charts and resulting in a complete sell-out of their global tour.

With their fifth studio album 'Arirang', BTS has achieved a clean sweep of significant weekly charts both domestically and on the global stage.

Data from Hanteo Chart on March 30 indicates that BTS's latest album 'Arirang' secured the top position on the weekly world chart and album chart for the period of March 23-29. Remarkably, the album claimed the number one spot during the third week of March, just three days post-release on the 20th, and it sustained its leading position for a second consecutive week.

An article preview from Billboard, released on March 30, confirms that 'Arirang' has achieved the apex of the 'Billboard 200' main album chart, dated April 4. The album debuted with 641,000 album units, representing the strongest weekly group album performance since the unit tracking system was instituted in December 2014. Out of these, 532,000 units were attributed to pure album sales, encompassing both physical and digital acquisitions. This figure represents a new high in weekly sales for a group album over the past decade.

BTS further extended their influence across global music charts. They dominated Spotify's weekly charts from March 20-26, topping categories such as 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists'. The title track 'SWIM' captured the number one slot on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', while all 14 tracks from 'Arirang' appeared within the top 30 rankings.

On Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global', 'SWIM' retained its leading position for 9 days (March 20-28) and 7 days (March 23-29) respectively. Furthermore, every song from the album continued to be present on the latest charts of both platforms. Even ten days following its release, the entire album, including its title track, continues to witness substantial global fan engagement and popularity.

BTS has scheduled the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, for April 9, 11, and 12. The tour will extend to stadium performances across South America in October, covering countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. With all 46 shows, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, selling out in advance, the group's exceptional ticketing appeal is undeniably evident.
